HOMEBREWED BEER IS OUR PASSION ACCESSIBILITY IS OUR MISSION
Queers Makin' Beers is a homebrew club currently located in Oakland, California and Sacramento, California. Our mission is to provide fun, educational spaces and brewing events that uniquely inspire people who want to learn and make beer at any level - for free. We host two community brews each month. Members are allowed to use our equipment, our knowledge, and our camaraderie to make delicious beer. We have launched our first fundraising campaign! Please enjoy our information and videos and consider making a contribution to our ongoing efforts in the awesome world of homebrew!

We have created a very special performance piece to highlight the spirit of our club and our deep commitment to "Makin' Beer".
OUR FUNDRAISING GOALS
We deeply appreciate our fans, our friends, our families and all the support we have received so far. Our successes are a reflection of an amazing community effort. We've grown too big for our own pockets and that's a good thing! Please consider donating, today!
Your support will:
1. Improve our equipment, making more gear accessible to homebrewers free-of-charge.
2. Provide $500 in start-up funding to new chapters around the country. Plans are already in place for Stuart, Florida and Seattle, Washington! Send us an email to inquire.
3. Keep QMB free to participants. Equal access regardless of socio-economic status is a top priority.
4. Ensure that we stay around for years to come! By raising $15,000 we can meet our equipment needs and maintain our club for at least 2 years. We aim to extend this by improving our efficiency and expanding our community with new clubs.

HISTORY AND MISSION
Kate and Rebecca, two queers from Florida, first met in an Oakland bar while waiting for friends. Over some tasty craftbrews they realized that they shared a common vision; both just wanted to make beer with other queer people. The two didn't hesitate to take their pairing to the next level... the grouping.
The original Queers Makin’ Beers Meetup started on July 2, 2015 in Oakland, California and has grown to be one of the largest homebrew groups in the Bay Area with more than 500 members. QMB are a community of queer-identified people teaching one another how to homebrew, while drinking beers we've made. We address the need for experiential, educational spaces free of racism, misogyny, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, and judgement. Making good beer is an empowering and radical act; we are radical people. QMB is for the genderbenders, the dykes, the fags, the weirdos, the normal but not heteronormative. Queers are pouring forth to join the homebrew revolution, and it’s rad.
Members can access communal equipment and gain expertise in creating delicious brews, free of charge. In addition to hosting monthly brews, we tour breweries, throw parties, and collaborate on various side projects with one another. Our meetings are an opportunity for queer folks to meet and share their passion for beer and anything else. It's simple and it's fun. Make friends and make beers. Members may host brews, attend brews, attend social events, follow us on social media, become an organizer, create QMB artwork, or do pretty much anything they want.
